Abstract. Dynamics of nutrient contents in the index part of anthurium cvs. ‘Tropical’, ‘Midori’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Bolero’, ‘President’, ‘Choco’, ‘Baron’ and ‘Pistache’ grown in expanded clay in 2000 and 2002 was studied. The dynamics of nitrogen and calcium contents shown decreasing tendency, but phosphorus, potassium and sulfur increasing one in two years of the study. There were multidirection differences in dynamics for magnesium, iron, manganese, zinc, copper and boron at vegetation period. The content of macroelements in the index part of anthurium (except of magnesium) was more stable and repeatable than for microelements.

Comparision of dynamics of macro- and microelement contents in different years of anthurium growing

Summary

The study was done in 2000 and 2002 with growing of anthurium in expanded clay with application of fertigation system. The following cultivars were tested, in 2000: ‘Tropical’, ‘Midori’, ‘Sultan’, ‘Bolero’ and in 2002: ‘Tropical’, ’Midori’, ‘President’, ‘Choco’, ‘Baron’ and ‘Pistache’.

It was found, that there was an agreement in dynamics of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and sulfur contents in the index part of anthurium (the fully expanded leaves of which the bloom was just harvested) at vegetation period in two years of study. The dynamics of nitrogen and calcium contents shown decreasing tendency, but phosphorus, potassium and sulfur increasing one. There were multidirection differences in dynamics content trends for magnesium, iron, manganese, zinc, copper and boron at vegetation period. Generally, the content of macroelements in the index part of anthurium (except of magnesium) is more stable than for microelements.
